A new report says Apple has already begun officially developing all the major operating systems for 2025. This includes iOS 19 which is codenamed “Luck” as well as other OS for MacBook, Apple Watch, and more.
In Mark Gurman’s latest newsletter, he confirmed that Apple has formally begun working on “2025’s major operating systems.”
He also revealed the codenames of some of the major Apple operating systems. While iOS 19 is codenamed Luck, others will be known as:
macOS 16 – “Cheer”
watchOS 12 – “Nepali”
visionOS 3 – “Discovery”
At the time of writing, that’s all the information we have and Apple is yet to announce more details.

iOS 18 will officially release with the new iPhone 16 series, after Apple reveals them via their annual keynote sometime in September 2024, the official dates are yet to be known.
While it’s way too soon to know anything about Apple’s plan for iOS 19, it will have significant development over all the Apple Intelligence features that will be introduced with iOS 18 this year.
