If you’re wondering how to mirror the front camera on your iPhone, you’ve come to the right place.
Like the camera grid, you can’t mirror the front camera right from the app itself. You need to head to the Settings app to make the changes and we have got your back with all the steps needed to do so.
How to turn on mirror front camera on iPhone
To turn on the mirror front camera on your iPhone, follow these steps:
- Head over to the Settings app.
- Scroll down a little to find Music, TV, and Photos apps. Tap on the Camera option (fourth from the top).
- Under the Composition section, enable the Mirror Front Camera button.
- And it’s done! Now whenever you click a selfie, a mirrored version of the photo will get saved in Photos.
Now, if you want to click photos without the mirror effect, you just need to disable the Mirror Front Camera button from the Settings app.
The process remains exactly the same, and that too for any previous iPhone edition you’re using. The image above shows the Settings menu on my iPhone 15 Pro that’s running on iOS 17.5.1.
Should you mirror front camera on iPhone?
Mirroring the front camera comes down to a personal preference. If you like your photos reversed horizontally, go for it. If not, keep it disabled.
Since we are mostly accustomed to seeing ourselves reversed, on a mirror, we would find flipped images naturally appealing to ourselves. However, for everyone else, your real image, the non-mirrored one, would be more natural.
Personally, I like to keep the option ticked off. Now that you know how to turn mirroring on, here are some of the best night photography tips for taking stunning low-light shots on your iPhone.
